Remit privacy policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Remit ("the app") is made by Tidy Merchant. It shows a Shopify store which of its B2B companies owe money on unpaid orders, and makes statements the merchant can send to them. This policy explains what data the app uses and why.

What the app reads

Each time the merchant opens the app, it reads from Shopify the store's unpaid and part-paid orders placed by B2B companies: order number, purchase order number, dates, payment terms and due dates, order total and balance due, and the name of the company and company location that placed the order. It does not read customer names, email addresses, phone numbers or addresses.

This order data is processed in memory to show the dashboard and to build statements, and is kept for at most one minute so that moving between pages is fast. The app does not save it to its database or to backups. Statements are created on request and sent straight to the merchant's browser; the app does not keep a copy.

What the app stores

The app does not store customer, company or order data, or payment details. Shopify handles all billing.

Why

Only to show the merchant what is owed to them and to make the statements they ask for.

Where it is processed

On servers in Germany (Hetzner Online GmbH). Database backups, which hold only the stored data listed above, are kept in Cloudflare R2 (Western Europe). These providers process the data only to host it for us. We do not sell or share the data.

How long

While the app is installed. When a merchant uninstalls the app, Shopify asks us 48 hours later to delete the store's data, and the app deletes it. Backups containing it expire within 60 days.
