How to see what your B2B customers owe in Shopify
In your Shopify admin, filter Orders to the ones still waiting for payment, or save a filter view of orders that are Due, which shows every order that is overdue or due today. Shopify lists them order by order; to see a total per company and how overdue each balance is, add them up from an order export or use an app that groups them, such as Remit.
Find the unpaid orders
Orders on payment terms stay in Payment pending until they are paid. If an order isn't paid by its due date, its status becomes Overdue. A part-paid order shows as Partially paid.
Shopify's help center suggests creating a filter view of your orders that shows only orders that are Due: every order that is overdue or due today. Save it so you can open it each week.
Get a total per company
- Filter your Orders to the unpaid ones.
- Click Export and choose the orders to export (up to 50 orders, or the current page, download straight away; larger exports arrive by email).
- In the spreadsheet, group the rows by company and add up the amounts.
What the export can and can't tell you
The export includes each order's Payment terms and Next payment due at, so you can also work out how many days overdue each one is. The Total column is the order total, not what is left to pay: the export's Outstanding Balance column only appears if the Shopify POS sales channel is installed.
Do it without a spreadsheet
An app such as Remit reads your unpaid B2B orders and shows what every company owes, grouped by age: not yet due, 1–30, 31–60, 61–90 and over 90 days. Open a company to see each order, its terms and days overdue, and download a PDF statement to send them.
